[   Chapter 1   ]

The students starts staring at her funny, making her suspicious. Her core teacher Mr. Hirayama greets her and walks her around the school. He teases her about being a 'bad' kid and getting kicked out of schools and only being accepted here because the principal is a big fan of her uncle (who is a famous young artist). Hina noticed that the students are wearing uniforms even though she was informed that this is a non uniform school.

She looks around at the students who are staring at her like she's some alien. She wasn't looking at where she is going and walks into someone. Papers fell to the ground. She helps pick them up and hands them to the guy. He saw her and froze. "Hina..." She was surprised he knew her name. Then a guy with glasses come up behind them. He sees Hina and goes into a shock. "You! Are you a new Grey?"

Hina gets confused and tells them that she is the new transfer student. The guy with glasses gets all excited and said he'd heard about her in the student council meeting and thinks she must be real smart to be accepted to this school. He introduces himself as the vice of the student council, points to the first guy, Isshiki, he's the president. Isshiki is still staring hard at Hina.

Her teacher comes and take her away. He shows her the school's facilities. Hina was impressed at how big and modern everything is. As they move from room to room, she witnessed confusing arguments that broke out among the students. She is starting to think that this school is really weird. She went to the field alone to look at the curriculum. Then, someone points a gun to her back.

The person starts searching through her bag. Hina gets pissed off, turns around and kicks him hard. The guy sits up holding his stomach and declares that she's cool (pic)(he's smiling after that kick -_-). He is the first person Hina met that isn't wearing any uniform. He explains to that the school is divided into 3 uniform groups. The 'Whites' are 'elite' while the 'Blacks' are bad students. The two groups have leaders whom everyone gotta obey. Greys are just individualistics who don't want to get involved in fights and wear uniforms. Hina ask him why there's hardly any greys, but the guy says she'll find out later.

He introduces himself as Koshiba Tetsuta. "Lets be friends." He gives her a quick kiss. Hina gets mad and punches him really hard. Later, she is washing her mouth furiously and thinking that she hope all city guys are not like him. Isshiki walks up to her and offers her a hankie. She accepts it and thinks to herself that this guy is good looking and refined. She asks for his name. "Isshiki Shoui" he says. She thinks it sounded really classy. "Ah...and what class?" "Isshiki Shoui!" the guy repeats his name a couple more times aggressively.

He yells at her, telling her that he will not let her say she forgot because he never forgets. "Remember by tomorrow!" He walks away. A very confused Hina sits on the steps trying to figure out what he meant, since she had no idea who he is. Tetsuta comes up and ask her what Isshiki said to her, but she just pushes him away. He teases her a bit and every announced that they make a sunny pair because of their name. Tetsuta warns Hina not to get involved with Isshiki because he is the White's leader.

They hear shouts coming from somewhere and runs to investigate. It's a Black beating up a White. Hina runs up to the black and holds onto his arm, telling him to stop. The Black just pushes her away. She jumps up in front of the White, shielding him. Then Tetsuta jumps in front of Hina and receives a blow on the head. The Black ask Tetsuta who Hina is. Tetsuta tells him she is a transfer student and not to harm her 'cause he likes her.

The Black tells Hina the 'rules'. She is to choose a group to join, obey the leader, can't stand out, can't talk back. Only that will she have a peaceful high school life. Hina says that's stupid (which made the Black angry). She starts yelling about how the school and the students is stupid to have this kind of adsurb tradition which nobody questions. Isshiki appears and tells her that she'd just said what nobody have dared to.

The crowd starts talking. It is rare that the White and Black leader are present at the same place (the Black guy is the leader). Hina asks Tetsuta if the Grey leader. He says no. "Then I'll join the Grey! I don't want to get involved in your childish fights or obey anyone!". Nishizaki (the Black leader) just laughs and says that she'll regret her decision. Hina confidently replies no.

"So, a new Grey is born. How long will she last?"
